I first became interested in photography in high school. Early on, I was very interested in the experimental side of photography. After entering college I shifted my photographic style towards the documentary side of the medium. I finished up my schooling with a BFA in photography and a teaching certificate in art for K-12.

My ongoing personal interest in photography lies in shooting abandoned industrial buildings. The overwhelming eerie silence of a dilapidated space that was once filled with the hustle and bustle of meaningful work very much speaks to me. These buildings now unfit for use and too expensive to tear down just fade into the background of many towns.

I shoot with a wide variety of equipment and media: 4x5, 2.25x2.25, 35mm film, various Polaroid films, pinhole cameras and digital. I feel this exhibition fits very well with my style: Obsolete objects being captured on Obsolete media with Obsolete equipment.
